Dr. Marcotte will give an update on recent findings regarding what is known about the relationship between automobile crashes and cannabis use in states that have legalized recreational use. He will also review challenges in determining cannabis related impairments in the field. Lastly, he’ll discuss the aims and methods being undertaken in a recently funded project examining the effects of acute cannabis use on driving performance, as well as its effects on current (and potentially new) field assessments. The other speaker, Dr. Sobolesky will detail the development of detecting marijuana usage in breath, blood and oral fluid by LC-MS/MS.
